Volunteer at Legacy.

Hundreds of people volunteer some of their time at Legacy Theater Company. Some of our volunteers have worked in professional or amateur theater, but most are regular folks from our community. They are from different walks of life looking to give back and be a part of something special. 

WHY GET INVOLVED?

Here are some reasons:

  • Learn a new skill. For example, set-building, making props, sewing, hospitality, leadership, organization. There are many opportunities where no prior skill is required.

  • Give Back. Being able to give of your time and talents to bring joy, healing, rest, and peace to another human life is the greatest gift you can give. There is something that only YOU can do the way YOU can do it. You have a legacy to leave and a legacy to give.

  • Act on stage. Perhaps you’d like to try acting or singing on stage.

  • Have a sense of accomplishment. There is no greater feeling than opening a show you had a part in, whether onstage, backstage, running lights/sound, or front of the house (working with the audience).

  • Make new friends. Your theater friends will quickly become your theater family. Legacy is truly a place where "everybody knows your name, and they are always glad you came."

  • Spend quality time with your family. It is a beautiful gift to perform with your family and friends as you use your talents to give back to the community.

  • Community Service. Need community service credits? Volunteer at Legacy and get some extra hours.

But perhaps the best place to start getting involved in LTC is to work on a show as one of the crew members (props, lights, sound, stage manager, costumes) or work as an usher (handing out playbills, showing patrons their seats, working front of the house). Here are some simple steps:

  1. Sign up for our newsletter below.

  2. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

  3. Watch out for emails asking for volunteers.

  4. Reply to those emails or social media posts, saying you're interested in volunteering.

  5. We will contact you and provide the necessary training. No experience is necessary to volunteer.
